As you may have noticed, the prices here on R2Pleasent.com have increased significantly since Stay-At-Home orders were issued across most major countries. R2Pleasent Gold would like to point out that our company is not "jacking up" the prices during the pandemic. Our profit margin is the same at all times.
With everyone stuck at home, OSRS is bumping like the good old days. With daily active players growing by the day, gold prices have been following suit. Demand is outpacing supply. Expect more volatility. After an early "stay-at-home" March spike, prices stabilized before shooting up 10% again on April 15th. Buckle up and build your reserves before it's too late. Still not convinced? Prices are up 52% since February ($0.65 to $0.99 per mil). RS3 price changes are following the same trend.
The price is definitely a key indicatior of the growing OSRS and EOC trend. That being said, if you want to see this trend another way, look at the wild graph below. The in-game population has skyrocketed since the start of quarantine. People aren't leaving their homes any time soon, so expect this trend to keep growing for the foreseeable future.

It's impossible to predict the future of RS Gold prices. So long as people are modifying their behavior by staying indoors, and increasing their online activity, we can expect higher gold prices. It is reasonable to assume that if life starts going back to normal, and people resume their routines before the Coronavirus outbreak, that we would see gold prices begin to drop again.

Chances are you or someone you know has been directly affected by COVID-19. This life-changing pandemic has made the whole world grind to a halt. It can be hard at times, but it's important for each and every one of us to do our part in curbing the spread of this disease. We encourage you to stay home and stay entertained, whether that's on RS or elsewhere. The good news is that video games are now a net benefit to society. Staying home and staying mentally sharp by connecting with other players through virtual environments is one of the best ways to minimize the risk of spread. Play away folks!
Feelings of isolation are very common during these uncertain times. As a result, a sense of community is more important than ever. With that in mind, the RS3 and OSRS communities have never been more vibrant. Online connections can be as strong or sometimes even stronger than IRL interactions. So, if you're feeling disconnected, we highly recommend you jump into one of those worlds and get socializing. You'll be happier for doing it, we guarantee it!
